J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5) and Bryce Zabel (The Crow: Stairway to Heaven) wrote up an idea for a Star Trek "re-boot" much like the new Battlestar Galactica's shortly before Enterprise ended. I guess they were wanting to turn it into a new show, but have since decided to let JJ Abrams and his cerw have their run at it. But for those interested, they did post what they wrote. Interesting idea. Could it have worked?

I have to say, I like it. A few things in particular: purchasing story ideas from leading sci-fi writers beginning, middle, and end to the series laid out. (5 seasons) b-plot 'breadcrumbs' throughout the season I also don't mind the character of Scotty being female, as long as she's hot. I'm not too big on the 'how they all became friends' deal, but who knows how that'd turn out. This is something they should do with Trek, but not for a few years. I can't believe they just decided to shelve this. Paramount/Viacom really drove Trek into the ground.

I loved that show when I was a child, but then it went off TV and I never saw the ending untill a year back when I saw the last few series, still a great show but I still want an ending to the dang cliff hanger smeg it!!!
