Time to spend some hard earned cash.  I am in analysis paralysis with these vehicles.  If I wasn't married, I'd probably just get something stupid and way too expensive like the Toyota FJ Cruiser but I am... so I need to get the sensible little SUV or wagon.

Your thoughts?

Help Pork spend a huge pile o'dead presidents.

I recon you should get somekind of wagon, just purely because I am major problems with 4WD's on anything other than rugid terrain.

I vote Volvo because everyone I've talked to says Subaru's are a bear to work on, and the Rav4 is a little shakey at higher speeds.  That, plus Volvo seems to be doing pretty well since the Ford acquisition.

You've probably already looked at something like this, but I saw the link and thought I'd pass it on.  Compare SUVs here.

The wife drives a Hyundai Santa Fe.  We like it.  It has a great warranty too.

Well, then suggest something sensible.
:s8:
The Rav4 is small and get very good milage.  We have very few higher milage options here because we have very few diesels.   Hybrids have other less "sensible" costs associated with them.

I am looking at the new Camry to replace my Contour.  The V6 LE (and the XLE, actually) is a nicely equipped and within your price range.

Choosing between those three, i'd definately get the Volvo.
...although if I had that kind of money to spend on a car, I'd buy a used Acura NSX(91-02) or a 1979 Corvette.

All fine suggestions Mr. B but I'll need a back seat for young'uns and a space for a 90 lg dog.  Gues I should have put that in the inital post.

*Need room for 2 adults, child seat and a dog
*Airbags, ABS etc are essential.
*AWD or on-demnand 4WD is nice (it's slippery around here in the winters)
*Above 20 mpg on average
*less than 30k
*Roof rack for a bicycle (my other more sensible form of transportation)

It will get maybe 5-7k miles of driving per year.   I often work from home or ride my bike to be "sensible".

My wife already has a 1999 Volvo XC70 and it's turning into a money pit...
