deja vu? I thought you just bought a subaru? I seem to remember suggesting the Dodge Magnum w/ Hemi @ 24mpg (same mileage as Honda Accord) (?) --------- my suggestion, this time : Dodge Magnum w/ Hemi @ 24mpg (same mileage as Honda Accord)

Nah... I procrastinated. Now I'm visiting www.carsdirect.com, edmunds.com, cars.com etc... in an endless cycle of analysis.

Never cared about owning a nice slicked up car that can go super-fast. I especially can't stand those kids who put "spinnas" on them and lights everywhere. Get something simple, good on gas, and with a good reputation for running well. I also agree with flix, "SUV" and "sensible" don't belong in the same sentence. The same book for that matter.

Again, and the SUV question, the Rav4 (or the the Honda CRV) for that matter, get very good milage, are ULEV vehicles, are very sensible. In what way is a low emissions vehicle, that fits everything I need and still gets an average 25 mpg "not sensible"? I'm not talking Suburban or Tahoe here... I'm open to convincing but the mantra "SUV's are not sensible" doesn't do it for me...

I will probably be riding this vehicle in the woods on occassion... and the little guys are now called CUVs, not SUVs.
