Yes it is a marvelous game.  Personally I can't wait till it comes out.  But... how much you guys wanna bet a small group of creationists are going to use this as either a "we're right" or "your insulting us" campaign.

All I can say is someone had to design the video game, didn't they?  It didn't spontaneously evolve out of a Word doc.

It looks interesting and I was pretty hyped up about it, but after thinking about it, I can't help but wonder how much of a novelty it could turn out to be.

How much of a novelty is the sims?  
I rest my case.

Yup...the videos show all the 'cool' things you can do, but to what end?  Hopefully a demo will come out before its release.

I dont know im kind of on the fence on this game, yes it looks cool, but what can you really do in the game? is there any thing else to do besides just creating creatures?

The problem with comparing it to The Sims is the time factor: most people got bored of The Sims in about two weeks, so if you only have two weeks with this game before you get bored, I don't think you'd be able to get through all the different levels of Spore in two weeks.  The other problem with the comparison is that you were doing pretty much the exact same thing for two weeks in The Sims, while in Spore, the game grows and changes, as does your creature.

No matter what you do,  somebody, somewhere, will be offended,  creationist, evolutionist, atheist, Christian, it doesn’t matter, they all have something to whine about.  

Best policy is just not to care.
