There are multiple articles on it here:  http://gaming.hexus.net/

I have not owned a console since my Sega Genesis was retired.  Reading about the controll and how it works is very interesting, to say the least.

What are you guy's thoughts on the console?

I preferred when it was named Revolution.  I think it's not going to do too well, since Sony is apparently jacking a lot of Nintendo's ideas to put into the PS3.  Since there's already a much bigger fanbase for Sony, I don't know how many people are going to be attracted enough by the novelty, ingenuity, or lower price of the Wii to buy it.  Ok, maybe the lower price will attract a few people, but it's still probably going to come off looking like it's mostly for kids, because I think that aura is still very much attached to Nintendo.

And Wii is probably the stupidest name I've ever heard.

Hah.  So that's what they were talking about when I tuned into G4 for a few minutes... I'm sitting there "what is the wee?!?"

Even funnier, they don't have a 'wi' sound in Japanese.  So it's probably going to be transliterated as 'Ui-'

I don't quite get it entirely because I haven't used Netscape in a while, I haven't used FireFox extensively, and I assume the compass is Opera, which I've never used, but it's still hilarious

If the name didn't matter, they wouldn't spend so much time/effort/money trying to come up w/ one.

Honestly, it shouldn't matter, but it apparently does.

Yes, the name's horrible, but I know I'll be outside the Target I work at in the morning on launch day to score one.

I never got to play it at E3, unfortunately, because the line to play it was a 6 hour (!) wait.  In comparison, you had to wait 15 minutes to play the PS3 or Xbox 360...

I've been a loyal Nintendo fan for years, and can't wait to have a Wii in my house.  The fact that I can download old games that I can't find anymore in stores is very appealing, plus all of the games in development for it look great, and the interaction feel that comes with the controller seems (and, as i've read from lots of hands-on reviews, is) awesome.

There are no games on the 360 that appeal to me, and while MGS4 looks extremely dreamy, It's the only game that I find appealing on the PS3.  Every other game that was on display for the PS3 looked very unimpressive.  I seriously don't see it selling well...it's just way too expensive.  I also don't like that the PS3 is going to use software emulation for its backward compatibility...being able to play PS1 games on PS2 was a huge plus for the system, but now I won't be able to play half of those titles on the PS3 because they won't be correctly emulated at launch (or, possibly, ever).

Sony's controller only has six degrees of motion detection on basic controller position in space, while the revolution's controller is made specifically for more of a pointing sense on the television, ala Remote Control.  I just see the Wiimote being more intuitive than the PS3 controller (The only game to feature motion-sensing technology at E3 for PS3 was Warhawk, and even then it was spotty movement...it took around half a second for the ship on-screen to move after you moved the controller.  Then again, it was an early build of the game...).

Sony's copying the menu button on the controller feature of the 360 as well as Nintendo's motion sensing technology, too...

I think Nintendo's doing a good job at targeting this at everyone, breaking out of their "kid-friendly" shell.  The fact that they're trying to make the Wii something that a gamer's whole family, not just the gamer themselves, will want to play, is truly something else, and definetly something not exclusively tried before in the gaming industry.
