After updating to the new 1.2 patch, the log view does not appear to be working correctly.

To illustrate exactly what I mean, perform the following steps:

1) Launch Quake 4 (and get to the main menu)
2) If you are not already in windowed mode, change your graphical settings so that you are in windowed mode.  (The easiest way to do this from fullscreen mode is simply to press alt-enter).
3) Open the in-game console by pressing ctrl-alt-`
4) Type "win_viewlog 1" and press enter.  This will cause the log viewer to open.

In all versions prior to 1.2 (and, in fact, in all previous id engine games, in one form or another), this window contains a textual copy of all of the information in the game's in-game console - very helpful when comparing settings with friends, standardizing settings for benchmarking, or just general troubleshooting.  However, since updating to 1.2 this window no longer gets a copy of the in-game console window's text.

This bug is reproducible on several machines.  Will this be fixed in the next patch?  If so, is there an approximate timeline for this fix?

I have attempted to report this through the normal technical support channels (ie, activision's technical support), but their answers have been unhelpful, to say the least.

If additional technical information is required, please let me know.

Thanks,
--Geoff

Same thing here. I think this actually might not be considered as a bug, but a feature.
I noticed when net_serverDedicated is set > 0, the view_log does work correctly.
This wont work however when actually connected to a server (obviously).

Only thing I want to know wheter it is intentionally removed (feature) and why :). And if it's possible to re-able the viewlog for normal clients.

Yeesh.  I sincerely hope that's not a "feature"!  Id-engine games have effectively always had that window available.

It seems likely that an intentional change like that would have at least shown up in the release notes.  Its absence there gives me hope that it's a bug.
