Well, it is a diesel... it should have more torque than an equivalent sized gas engine.


@madmanF - A hybrid won't save you money.  You pay more and the tax credits are only useful for people with incomes.   With higher gas prices, you might see a ROI for the extra money you spent in 6-7 years (depending on the price of gas and how much you drive).   You'd have been better off with the Liberty diesel.  At least biodiesel's price has been stable.

The liberty diesel has been having problems, they stopped making it for the 2007 model year.

And with diesel prices about the same as regular gas, it wouldn't be much of a save either.

2) Your MPG is better with the diesel.

They chose some  Italian diesel when they probably had a few from Benz they could have used.   Bet they decided to go cheap and they got what they paid for...

I know that it gets better MPG, just not that much better to warrent the extra price that a CRD costs.
