Hey all,

I was just watchin insurrection and it brought back memories of the good old days of Armada, so I decided to brush the dust off my copy. It installed fine and runs decentally for an old 95-98 game running on XP, but the sound skips alot on it. Has anyone had any luck runnign Armada well on Windows XP? I have hardware acceleration turned down to the lowest setting (No Acceleration), but it didnt seem to help.

Cant say I have run it on a XP rig, but when it does not hurt to see I may give it a go.

I broke my Armada 1 CD a long time ago. I have Armada 2 though, which is what 1 should have been.

Lol, yeah. I have 2 aswell, but I tend to have a 'longing' for older technology games, plus I want to 'play' the storyline instead of read it. I am trying to get my hands on a copy of System Shock 1, so I can see the backstory for SS2.

yeah, I install and play it every once in a while.  Good game.

How many times do you install and play Corran?  There seems to be something wrong with the board.

I used to play it alot (on XP).  I'd come home from school and play for about an hour a day.  I don't play RTS games anymore as I seldom have that much time to invest.

I don't even know where my copy is. But I loved that game.

Still remember having problems connecting with MP however

I hated the single player, especially the 3rd and 5th federation mission and the last and final mission locking up my computer.

another thing to note about the game is that it uses Battlezone's engine :P
