Most flash mp3 players are largely the same, although I would stick with a brand associated with MP3 players, not USB flash drives.  If you do a little looking you shuold be able to find a pretty nifty flash player, like the MobiBlu 15000, 2gb version

That does look nice, but what's the price on it?  We're looking for something under $120.

Also, a voice recorder is something he wants...

EDIT:  Yeah, that one is $130 for the 1 gig and $160 for 2...

I have an older one of these iAudio (mine is 512mb only) from maybe a year ago...  

Real nice sound quality and it does a pretty good job of recording.

Well, I bought the Gigabeat 40gig today.  Was going to buy it from Circuit City for $215, but I took too long deciding (I am so very cheap), and it went up to $290!  Man, that ticked me off.
The next best deal I was able to find was $230 w/ free shipping.  So I lost $15. :(
