Where do you go for info on Q4 servers? Is there a dedicated forum or mailing list anywhere?

How to setup, Yes. Where to find, Yes. General chat with other players, No. General chat with other server admins would be good. I run a Half-Life server, and Valve hosts a mailing list for server admins. I'd like to find something similar for Quake servers in general, especially Q4 servers.

I dont know of any specific mailinglist / forum, although its possibly a good idea. There's a server-admin forum on www.q4max.com although obviously that generally is for q4max things - and is fairly new, so much server-admin talk will have gone on in "general". (general vq4 server-admin queries etc will be/are answered I guess). You'll certainly find other q4 server-admins posting in those forums. There are Q4 forums at doom3world.org, esreality.com, quake3world.com and forumplanet.com, but none of them have a specific q4 server-admin area (FP has a general "server admin" area applying to all quakes tho). Alternatively, just post your Q's here and see what answers you get. BTW, this q4max wiki page gives some useful info on setting up servers, and although some of it is q4max specific, much of it is general to vq4. Where to find servers... well, your serverbrowser ;) x-fire, q4echelon or !SKQ4. Could also use the pickup channels on irc (enterthegame / quakenet)
