Well, I doubt I`ll be getting rid of it now anyway, since my subscription for Live Update doesn`t run out until 2115, I`m just going with what works best on my system, and Norton works #### of alot better for me than Avast! did.

What does having files left on your computer have to do with your subscription?, do they control your computer by remote control. If you remove NAV completly you will still have the subscription, even if you don't have a bleeding file of NAV on your computer. And you can resume to put NAV back on your computer even if you just took it off for two fortnights to try some other software.  :s6:

I tried norton and it continualy told me that I had a virus but that it could not do anything about it.
It just said, and mean literaly, "Sorry, we cannot remove this file."
then I tried avast, and it got it.
And it's FREE!

When you "uninstall" Norton, it sticks around. Check your running processes, SteMot. You'll begin to see mysterious programs running, if you know what usually is and is not running on your PC. I check every day. "Uninstalling" Norton is like deleting a shortcut to a program and expecting the program itself to be gone.

Tell me about it, we had a customer once who couldnt get online no matter what we did (we though it was just another case of a hosed winsock) so we had her bring the box in, turns out she had uninstalled NIS but somehow NIS still had a rouge proxy setup on the box and it wasnt allowing her to get out anywhere.

they just appear to be able to work without completely screwing up my net connection, which, as far as I`m concerned, works for me.

Well it may work for you, you could do a lot better and some AVs are free. NAV is the worst performer out there, and you have to pay for it.

Technically you just have to buy it once, Symantec has the instructions on how to get around the subscription garbage on their website if you know where to look.
