Ok hopefully these are issues you are addressing, however I will list them just in case. -NEEDS -Hitboxes are too large (rail and lightning-gun is overpowered). This is by far the biggest issue atm (people are making maps without rail for gods sake!) -Rockets should be slightly faster and perhaps have bigger splash radius. -WISHES -More diverse models (KEEL comeback or some big strogg model would greatly appreciated  -Mouse acceleration -Sound bug fixes (footstep stuttering and shaft sound) That's what I can think of now, I'll edit when I can think of other issues. Needs!! -Number 1 Remove the spinup on the Gaunt, its not there in Q3 and its stupid now.
-Number 2 Remove the zoom on the MG, its the spawn weapon, it shouldnt be able to stand up to anything other then the Gaunt. While your at it drop the damage down to 5 across the board. 10 damage zoomed in MP is ####ing stupid. 5 across the board, no zoom. Take a look at the community right now, who is playing? A bunch of newbies? No, Quake really has never, and will never be newb friendly its just to skilled of a community, so stop trying to appeal to them by dumbing down the game.
-Fix the scale issues. This is a catch all issue for the hitbox, SG spread, MG spread, RL speed, LG length, movement settings and so on. If the scale has been changed at all then the rest of the settings must be changed to match, this should be obvious.
-Fix the sound issues. Weapon sounds are dropped, sound loops occur, pickups are missed, placement is horrible compared to Q3, MG is annoying, LG/RG dont make a noticable enough sound to be useful as another aspect of DM play. Fix it so that when I press walk I instantly walk and am silenced. Throw in pain sounds to at different threasholds ffs. Q3 had them, add them.
-Sharpen up the movement Movement is laggy, press walk and it takes a split second for it to seem to register, same with changing direction on the ground side to side.
-Netcode I can LG in Q3 at 80 ping, its useless in Q4 at anything over 50. Definatly can be improved.
Utopian Wish list. -More Maps, never a bad thing.
-More Models, one of which that actually fills the improved and fixed hitbox, because the hitbox is being fixed right?!
-Sounds to make use of the new and improved sound system that will make use of the new patch, because the sound is being fixed right?! Im talking different walk sounds. Think Keel.
-Tweak weapons, I think only the NG is out of touch, maybe up the RoF of the HB but the NG could use a rework imo. Slow it down and increase the spin up time maybe.

Please, no offense with my words: I don't know why most people are so unpleasant with the multiplayer of Quake 4. As all we know, Quake 4 was designed to be a single player game. And it's a really very cool game in that area (infravalored I guess). It's inmersive, adictive... But, I must say, Quake 4 is not Quake 3. It's like saying the solo player of Quake 3 is pure crap. Maybe someday...they'll make Quake 5:Arena or something like that...so we can talk about the good and bad things and compare it with Quake 3. Quake 4 rocks. Waiting for an expansion  bad english, I know, sorry ;) |
