I have a very annoying problem with Q4, it hangs all approximately all 3 minutes for about 2-3 seconds ... in multiplayer this is fatal ... Have I set something wrong? What could it be? I'm trying to fix this problem since several days. my system: amd x2 4200+, GF 6800 GS, ASUS SLI, 1 GB RAM, XFI Extreme Music, Windows 2000. Sometimes, but very seldom q4 even crashes :-( Can you help me solve this problem?

Well, I have now replaced the graphics card, I checked the rams, I checked temperature of my cpu and gpu, they are all ok, and I even changed the OS to WinXP X64, and still it's the same problem coming again and again ... I really hope this thing is resolved after the patch otherwise Q4 is dead for me

Try re-setting your config & see if it helps. Step by step: Go into q4base folder & delete Quake4Config.cfg. (move any autoexec.cfg you might have as well) Now launch Quake 4 & goto Settings>System & click Auto Detect Settings. Once that is done, click Advanced Audio Settings & make sure Sound System is set to Default. Also turn off EAX.. set it to No. Once you do that, Exit out of Q4 to your desktop & re-launch it.
