So we all now know that Bethesda is in charge of video games using the Star Trek licence, but apparently CBS controls all of Star Trek.  This happened a couple of weeks ago, I missed it completely.  Could this mean a new Star Trek TV show sooner rather than later though?  I hope so.

Hmm!  If I understood the article right,  the TV series are now under the umbrella of CBS and the movies and the DVDs are still with Viacom...  Weird...

I say leave film/TV Star Trek alone for a decade or two.  Then, hope for a BSG-style resurgence somewhere down the line.

No no no!  I'll probably be dead by then...  And so will be Bjorn and Wolf... :p

I wouldn't count on it.  Paramount kinda ot burned on Nemesis... although they may have eventually made all their money back.  It will probably be more than a couple years before we see any new trek... and that's probably a good thing.

The only reason Nemesis did as poorly as it did was because Paramount positioned it directly against Return of the King and expected to get away with it.  Star Trek is good, but when New Line had been hyping it for so long, it didn't have a shot.

I love BSG but I pray that Star Trek never is like BSG.

Also did you know that UPN and WB are merging?
So intead of two TV stations, we get one.
You all know what this means right?  Paramount is dismanteling itself.

Why would you just want it to go away for a few years? I'd prefer a new series, DONE CORRECTLY.

This means, DITCH THE GIMMECKS. No Prequil, no lost in space theme, no overly confusing plot-arc. Just a crew, in the Alpha Quadrant with the typical Romulans, Klingons, Cardassians, and Humans. If there's one thing I know about TV, it's that viewers WANT the same worn over characters and likened storylines.
