When I chatted with one of the developers mid-last year they were a few months (if all went well) from Alpha. I forget the exact date, but it was around when SG-1's 'Avatar' aired, I was talking with one of the guys in Perception and he let slip that they did the renders for that ep a few weeks before it aired.

I think part of the reason for the cancelation is JoWooD splitting with Perception, you cant publish a game without a publisher. But we'll see what's in the release.
