http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/680/680576p1.html

So Infinity Ward stepped up to the plate and announced they are working on a patch to fix the issues with the XBOX 360 version of Call of Duty 2, specifically the online multiplayer complaints users have had.

Yet Raven still has yet to utter a peep about the XBOX 360 version of Quake4's massively flawed single player game.  The framerate is horrendous for an XBOX 360 title (Doom3 ran better on XBOX1!!!) in the single player game and the game has several freeze bugs (not a hardware problem, its the software as everyone who has this game reports lockups going through one door of the Canyon level and also when loading the next level occasionally) in the single player game. Users also report glitches with XBOX Live with the message "XBOX Live has encountered an error" when starting a multi game.  Heck, Quake4 not only was nominated for but won the Worst Framerate of the Year Award for 2005; Raven must acknowledge there are issues with this $60 game that need to be patched!  Quake4 for 360 has Live multiplayer and patches can be delivered for both the multi- and single- player games much like was done for the original Unreal Championship on XBOX1 which also had single player framerate issues (fixed by disabling AA and vsync).

I thought Raven was a top notch dev studio prior to playing the XBOX 360 port of this game.  If Raven doesn't release a patch, its going to be hard for me to retain that belief...  I mean, what top notch dev studio doesn't listen to the complaints of its users??  Look at the xbox.com quake4 forums, this forum, reviews, or virtually any source of user feedback and you will see the disappointment of quake4 players with the framerate of the XBOX 360 version of this game.  Heck, even disabling vsync might provide a decent boost.

This game needs to be repaired Raven.  It's not worth losing fans and future customers over the few bucks that its going to cost to recode parts of this game.  Don't let us down.  Thanks.

P.S. - Wouldn't mind those map packs you released for the PC version, either :p

RAVEN - Wake up and smell what your customers are telling you! I haven't been able to play a single online game due to the problem being so bad! This qualifies as a flawed product in my opinion. I will seriously think before buying your products again...and if I'm thinking that you can be sure MANY others are too!

Customers, wake up and smell that Raven is listening. Every game company do. Simply, if you think fixing such thing is easy, then do it yourself!

So, does that mean that Raven IS working on a patch for it? That is all anyone really wants to know. As long as they are working on it, I am happy. If there not though, well I just bought a $60 coaster.

"Customers, wake up and smell that Raven is listening. Every game company do. Simply, if you think fixing such thing is easy, then do it yourself!"

I have spent an entire career representing a vendor to clients.  I can't imagine telling them to fix by themselves something that they bought from us.  Of course, if I tried it they would deduct the cost of the item from their next invoice.  This would be impossible for a game purchaser.

But the relationship is the same:

vendor:  Activision
client:    Game purchaser

The real problems are twofold:

Activision is the problem, not Raven.

There is no warranty for software that claims it is guaranteed to do anything.  Only the medium is under warranty.  Since there is no recourse for the game purchaser, all they can do is complain.

However, they should take their complaints to Activision.

...and here is a thread dedicated to enlightening individuals exactly how to do this:
