Okay.

So I bought the special DVD edition of Quake 4, and had a great time with the fourth game in the series. After finishing the singleplayer campaign, I decided to moving on to the Q2 expansions, as I'd never tried them before.

But wait! I install them, and there is no music! Neither in The Reckoning or Ground Zero! Oh my God, I'm doomed!

Really. Quake 2 is such a fun game, but the music, man... it just adds so much more to the experience. Why the limbo would you want to release a game and remove some of the stuff that made it so great?

I really was disappointed when I found out the music was removed. So, if anybody from Raven is reading this, could you please release a patch which includes the music for the games (Q2, Reckoning & Ground Zero)?

Couse really... I pay for a game and I expect to get what it should contain.

Thanks for reading

The music in Q2 and the missionpacks was CDAudio, and the method used to play the audio is fundamentally incompatible with playing from a DVD with the other games on it.

They only had 2 options:
1. Ship 3 cds with the audio on em
2. Modify Q2 so that it reads mp3's and plays back.

The second isnt too hard (I've made a version capable of playing .wav's and that took less than an hour or so, although theres a few issues), but I guess they didnt plan to modify Q2 at all.

The audio on the expansions was the same as the actual game of quake2. Atleast this was my experience. If anyone had this different then I'm going to be mad because I thought I had listened to all of the music.

Just make sure that you have the 3.20 patch installed so that you can play without the CD and then use an original Quake2 CD for the music. I'm pretty sure that one of the expansions was distributed with the 3.19 patch which does the same thing.
