You're missing out. If you like cop shows, definitely check out Waking The Dead. Comes on Mondays 8-10 Central on BBC America. And if you like British humor (though you probably don't know yet, huh?), look for Blackadder reruns. They're on BBCAmerica pretty frequently. EDIT: Did some googling and found out that next episode of WTD is the last of the season. Doh. It's nice watching 2 at a time, but they burn through them too quickly. Sucks. ONE MORE TIME: Found this: http://www.sueterryvoices.co.uk/profile/lisa-faulkner/So anyone who's seen the show and knows the difference, is she using 'London Central' or 'Neutral' on the show? |

I've only seen MI5 on A&E (which is cut down for time to air commercials), but what I saw I liked (the scene with the deep fryer was truly, um, realistic and not what I expected), and as it happens 2 of my favourite actors had guest roles - Anthony Stewart Head ("Rupert Giles" from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Alexander Siddig ("Dr. Bashir" from ST: Deep Space Nine). I was contemplating starting to collect another series on DVD - I may just have to make it MI5 now that I think about it I've also seen all the Monty Python Flying Circus episodes (including the "lost" German episodes), I recently bought Fawlty Towers on DVD, which is absolutely hilarious and just as funny to watch over and over again, and I've seen chunks of the Blackadder series (which I'd also like to get on DVD but it's a bit pricey). On public television they air Keeping Up Appearances and Are You Being Served? regularly, which are fairly amusing, but having seen them several times each they tend to lose their edge. I also quite like the productions of Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes mysteries that public television and A&E air from time to time - most of the actors are British (in particular David Suchet as Hercule Poirot is outstanding, as was the late Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes) and I'm fairly certain most of them were shot in England, but I'm not sure if it's properly considered "British TV". Anyway, that's all I can think of for now... |

For those who haven't, basically, they went around and interviewed the 'Great British Public' (how it's billed in the credits) about various topics, then put the vocals to claymation animals. The animation is by the same guy as Wallace and Grommit (sp?), so you know it's awesome. I love how they capture all the little movements and facial expressions... Fantastic work. The humor of some of the interviewees is great too. The one hamster guy consistently cracks me up, as does the Scottish(?) mouse who I can barely understand. |
YES we get that here too. It's awesome Just saw the one about the royal family. Oh man.. I love the dog who sits outside his kennel. |
Hmm... not sure if I saw that one. (None of them are properly labled on my TV's guide, so I have to just record all that come on and delete the ones I've seen. I like when the little hamster guy (big head/little ears) was doing his impression of the Queen. Heheh. Great show. My mom thinks it's stupid, though. My dad thought it was kinda funny, but he has trouble understanding the accents. And I forgot about Fawlty Towers. That's another good one. Then again, my list is hardly exhaustive... I'd have to include older stuff like The Saint and The Avengers, as well as stuff I'm ashamed to admit like Changing Rooms and Cash In The Attic. |

Spooks has had 4 seasons S1 6 S2-4 10 each S3 was the one with a load of them going/killed was rather depressing S4 was better, Started off with terrorist bombings in London and I'm sure the last episode gave the conspiracy nuts something to talk about as it had to do with Diana's death Waking the dead Series 5 episodes had it split Sunday/Monday nights (Cold Fusion was good) Now Life on Mars is one I'm going to watch at least a couple to see if it lives up to the trailers and as from Kudos who make Spooks/Hustle* I'm hoping it's going to be good * Didn't really like that one myself |
