Is this how u help people with their problems? Not answering them for two whole days. I know this is a hard thing to get past by. I know i have a problem that almost has no solution. But you could at least tell me that there is no solution, for me to get a better processor instead of "ditching" me. Thanks a lot Guys. U REALLY MADE MY DAY!!    

Quake 4 should be in C:\Program files\.. The folder might be idsoftware if I'm not mistaken. Once you find the folder, go into q4base folder & delete Quake4Config.cfg.
Now launch Quake 4 & goto Settings>System & click Auto Detect Settings. Once that is done, click Advanced Audio Settings & make sure Sound System is set to Default. Also turn off EAX.. set it to No.

Once you do that, Exit out of Q4 to your desktop & re-launch it. Now try to start a new game or load a saved game.

WOW. I think tha really worked..dleting the config file. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I CAN LOAD MY SAVED GAMES NOW. I could do it when i re-installed Q4, but then it started acting up again. Now i can load up my saved games again. THANK YOU SO MUCH. What was the problem. How did deleting the file helped me. I would like an explanation if its not to much to ask! I CAN PLAY QUAKE 4 AGAIN... ....than you so much whoever u are.(sorry to be rude)..    

Quake4Config.cfg stores all your graphic, sound settings etc.

Deleting it will force Q4 to re-create a new config.

It's important to let Q4 auto detect settings so it can cater the graphic & sound settings to your specific computer.
You should always use auto detect whenever you do a fresh install or delete your current config.

Setting sound to default & turning off EAX & such options will ensure that your Q4 sound will use windows default sound for better compatibility.
The current state of the Q4 sound system needs to be sorted out with patches from both raven & hardware vendors.

Finally, after doing those two steps it's always best to exit out of Q4 & re-launch, so the new settings can take effect.
