I am using Ati Cat 5.12
X800XT PE

Athlong X2 4400+

Quake4 starts off fine. I can enable/disable SMP fine when the gameplay is not going on. But with SMP on, as soon as I start a level, it crashes - sound is ok, video crashes.

Using process explorer, i monitored the threads for quake4.exe, they stop using CPU all together as the level starts.

Others havent got this problem - others with nvidia card.
More info here

Anyone with Ati card and cat 5.12 (which are apparently dual core optimized - though for non OGL games) is having a similar crash problem ??

Thanks

i would suggest logging the console output when you are having your problem.

send the log file, dxdiag output, system specs, and any other relevant information to the bug reporting page at:

http://www.idsoftware.com/bugs/

the more you let them know about what is happening through the channels they have requested the more they can fix :)
