I can't find a program that will let me convert avi to gif (for free). Any suggestions?

I've been looking on google (and still am). All the programs I find make you pay. By the way, I noticed you used the "word" "cos" instead of "Cause" or perhaps "Because". Does eliminating those letters save you a lot of time when typing out such long complex posts like the one you just made? One other thing that came to mind, your complete lack of any form of punctuation whatsoever. Your period key broken? .avi is just a sequence of images... which is what a gif is.

Gif Construction Set, I've used it before. Has a free trial, forget how long it lasted.

I use that program once long time, it's good but not enough because Trial version put label on every saved file you made.

Animation Shop 3, came with Paint Shop Pro 8 as bonus, could do it from any video files.
