So not just the pc!! xbox 360 suffers from the same problem

EDIT: I must say, what a god damned shame that the venerable Quake series has fallen to such a pathetic rating.

When you consider the xbox 360 is like a super computer, and thats having fps problems with Q4, it doesn't bode well for us pc users  

^^it depends on how you look at it.I'm one of the pc users who have no problems.
the game runs like a honda for me (its just boring).  and my computer is over 2 years old ,
it just has upgraded gfx card.
( Athlon3000+, 1024MB DDR, Nforce2 AGP8x motherboard + 6800GT 265MB @ 350/1000mhz core/clock)

^^if thats all it takes to outperform an XBOX360 , then WTF do I need an XBOX360 for?

but XBOX360 is already having problems "today",  and its going to be around the for the next SEVEN years with no hardware upgrades.    

I have almost same specs as you, Athlon 3000+, 512 ddr 400, geforce Leadtek 6800 (Have enabled extra vertex shader, and pixel pipe)

As i say Quake 4 runs great single player, multiplayers fine untill 8 or more players are on then my fps drop to 20 odd ...

Hopefully a patch will resolve these problems

It's not a super computer! The 360 has 3 cpu cores and I'll bet anything that Q4 is single threaded, i.e. only uses one core, like the majority of first gen 360 games.

 Totally agree. P4 2.6 oc'd to 3.1 (933 fsb), 1GB OCZ@ CAS2 running 1:1, 6800 Ultra slightly overclocked. In the worst case multiplayer I see occassional dips to 40 fps, but those are VERY brief. This system holds 63 fps very, very well.

Not to offend, but I think some people really need to tweek their systems/game to run better. Does everyone forget what playing Q3 was like at first?

I've been trying to say that from the start but nooooo.....

"We PC users are just Beta testing the game so the Xbox players can have a nice game". Now look at what has happened... Aren't you glad you have a PC instead of an Xbox?
