So I knew I was getign a new card since my 9700pro died and I got Quake 4 instaled it and this is my experience.

CPU:AMD 3000+ XP 400FSB
RAM:1GB 400Mhz
CD/DVD:Lite on 2Xdl -r in a  USB 2.0 box
Sound:SBlive 24BIT Value
VID:Starting with ATI 8500

I installed it with no problems at least they kept the install music to a minuim I hate fancy install progams >< DOOM 3's was so loud it hurt my ears ><,after I got it installed I set the key.cfg to read only dose nt help much sicne sometimes it wants me to retype the key in they realy should make it where it gives you 2 or 3 min befor recheckign the key so you dont have to retype the darn thing in mostly for MP tho,but befor I tried MP I had to set down and fool with the graphics options alil to get it to run as best it can on a old card I fixed the green screen useing the arb1 command but their were plently of glitchs remaining like the half dark faces on most of the marines but at least it was runing and running 20-30 FPS makeing it playable I also got stuck a few time one of them was after stroggification when you had to jump onto the Canester sorter over that pit I jumped off of it befor I got pushed off I jump onto a lil area by the convater belt and got stuck 0-o.

As I was palying I  noticed right off the bat this was a generic game but I pressed on untill alil after he became stroggified then my new card was comming in and I just got FF11 to play wiht so I took a 3 or 4 day break from palying Q4 untill I got the new card in and got its newest drivers glitchs galore in FF11 (mostly weather and haze dissapering) I paly quake 4 alil reset quake 4 cfg and removed arb1 it didnt help still had half dark faces and other odditses but noticed that this is a fast paced game thos guys can move when they want to! after a few days worth of glitchs I tried the Omega drivers but that didnt help any so I uninstalled the drivers and omega made sure there were no ATI stuff left and installed the drivers from the CD 66.93 are the GF drivers installed them and BOOM everythign is running with no glitchs altho Quake 4 shutters ALOT around smoke and steam and such I have it on high 800X600  tried it on Ultra with the old drivers it ran like 5-10 FPS 0-o I also bining jump hight to a button now he can jump 2 or 3 times high than befor well alil befor fall damge kicks in I need to incress his speed just alil then it will be even to what I set it to for DOOM 3 you know DOOM 3 aint so bad once you make it where he can run and jump better...#### if the level design were more complex I would even praise the game..but sadly you have to cheat and tweak D3 to amke it fun....and the same goes for Q4..I have half a mind to dig out my C++ program and learn to code for D3 so I can make soem neat alt fire for the weapons but my mind suxs I could code for Uneal 1 only becuse its so easy to code for it *L*

If you noticed I am one of the few where the game has not crashed out right as I am writeing this I recall the game not wanting to start when I had the 8500 I updated its drivers from ATI and it started fine!

I know have the game running at 20+ FPS it droped down to 15FPS at the frist brefing,I say 20+ becsue it it runs fine when nothing is on screen then depening on what shows up it can lag some 0-o

What are you talking about, I love fancy install programs and music playing! The Turok 2 installation of mine was just great. I don't know what music DooM 3 has, I didn't turn on it back then, I mostly have my sound muted...

*L* but its bad when the volume for the installer is louder than the game :P
I usealy go and do other stuff when instaling I get annoyed when some want to take the whole screen up,altho I did enjoy JK2-3's random pics while it installed the frist time*L*

Q4 install is super. The game too! And I'm playing with very high FPS count(60 FPS) on PC like this:

goto : "performance and quality settings" in the geforce driver applet.
under "global driver settings"   click   "view : advanced settings"
scroll down the list of advanced settings until you see "Hardware accelleration"

---> make sure hardware accelleration is set to "single display mode"
(the default is dual display mode)

I am useing 66.93 drivers and its set to single

HL2 is killing me....I cant stop palying it...even with the ammo caps and flashlight that can drowen you when you are in water *L*
havent bothered tryign to paly it sicne I got HL2 *L*
