For being a supposed sequel to Quake2, Quake4 didnt stay very true in its content, wich is kinda the opposite of a sequel...

Quake4 singleplayer was pretty much watered down to a minimum it looked pretty buts thats about it.


Q4MP is boring because its Q3MP...

I'm going to agree completely with Bishop Gantry, however I'm one of the ones that Q4 grows on. After all It's quake and I'm a loyale fan. I'm goint to stay true to Bond even though they're using a loser for the next Bond and dumping most of the cast. I'm also waiting patiently for Die Hard 4 dispite the original choice to use Britney Spears as Holly McClane.

The point is that what really made the quakes was the mods. Yes all the quakes had siginificant roles in the development of multi-player as a whole. If it wasn't for actionquake, would there ever have been a Counter strike? IF there was never a Team Fortress Quake1, HL would have died in it's tracks. Heck HL is an adaptation of the Quake2 engine form what I've been described. Unreal was advertised as "the real quake killer." So quake's always had an impact on deathmatch, but more so the wonderful mods that came from the series made online gaming what it is. CTF was just a paintball tournement until Quake1 CTF. So for the pure potential for mods Quake4 has is O.k. by me.

To adress one point more specifically. One careless user said that if quake4 used alternative fire modes for every weapon then it "would at least be original." I have 3 words that completely negate your entire argument: Perfect Dark Sucked!

Quake Fan to the end, even if E.A.-UnableToMakeASingleGoodGame-Sports makes quake5 I'll be loyal!
