No there's no other form of protection that would cause such a mess. To me it's just not reconizing the textures an that fact your maps are black/white it's more a graphic problem, but considering your pc specs. it should run fine on that FX 5200.

I'ma surf around an see what I can find for you.

damaged install i think...unfortunately in the big pk3 files (musicandsound.pk3 & textures0.pk3) either get these files from someone else, or buy better cd's. I think sof2 in store is cheap nowadays (if you can find it)

Turns out it was indeed the install media... Borrowed the CDs from my little bro today and things worked like a charm.

Sadly this is a VERY common problem with SOF2. I have seen LOTS of these kinds of posts...

Good cleaning of the cd's (even when they look clean already) usually does the trick.

Argh, it seems the forums are having problems again -> errormessage after posting a message -> but post is still there. I wonder how many months it is going to take before this gets fixed :(
