now please oh please go back to your own created world.. Heretic!!!!  I swear this is the engine to use.  Heretic is the world that needs to come back into the limelight.

Come on Raven, bring Heretic/Hexen back. In the first person of course. Heretic II was good but just didn't have the feel of Heretic/Hexen.

I can't agree on that. Heretic II has the storyline shown finaly. It was great in its third person, with all the jumps and staff combos, it actually showed that Raven does not run out of ideas. It is just a different game. I still prefer heXen to it, but not first Heretic, at least not in its old type - the DooM clone type. But for first person I want heXen. Whatever, we won't see neither, too much time passed... But, eh, other companies... THey even continue Fallout, why Raven can't conintinue Shadow of the Serpent Riders...

No graphically Heretic II was nice.. but I couldn't get into the 3rd person perspective.  I'm much more of a first person sort of guy.  But yeah Heretic II did have a descent storyline.

I myself loved Heretic.  Still do, I think it and Hexen were two gorgeous games of their times.  The bright colors contrasting with the neutral dank colors was great.  I don't see why Raven can't continue on that storyline or branch it off.  I don't know..

I loved RtCW and am eagerly awaiting RtCW 2, but I'd rather see Raven work on a new Heretic...

I don't trust that mod. Firstly, they are hiding, that is a bad mark, and secondly, the mod is finished by 80%, which means it's short. I had a topic around here somewhere about it.

Well, I couldn't get used to third-person too at first, but then it was my first mouse game. Before, I played only keyboard. I liked almost everything about Heretic. I like the mana division - offensive, defencive. The spells and weapons were cool. Storm bow was like a hellstaff. Phoenix Rod was remade to bow. I lacked my old favorite weapons - dragon claw, crossbow, firemace, and Heretic II tome of power duration was so short I almost didn't use it. But apart from that, there is nothing I can say agains Heretic II as a separate game...

RtCW? IS that Return to Castle Wolfenstain? Since when it is made by Raven? Or ID gives over the developing again?

Yes Return to Castle Wolfenstein 2 is being developed by Raven, just like Quake 4. Which I have no quams about, I've loved almost every FPS Raven has released.  I can only imagine what they'll do with RtCW.

Well, Quake IV was a DooM clone, I really don't won't something like that to happen to Wolfenstein - it's one of my favorite games. Hmm... I wander if someone in ID lingers for a heXen/Heretic? It was ID who published 3 out of 4 games in the first place. Maybe they are repeating old series, and they can sa well ask Raven to make a Heretic/heXen after they are finished with DooM, Quake, Wolfenstein.

I absolutely hated Hexen II and Heretic II. Both lacked depth and action imo.

Certainly, they were for much more deep understanding than Quake and other mindless rubbish. Some teenager sitting in the club and playing Counter-Strike won't even look at it - too complicated. Ot some army guy who thinks he's cool because he is stronger than others, so he just plays DooM. But he doesn't realize that his mind didn't develop much compared to physics, and I say mind is much more important than strength. Reccomend you to read The Sea Wolf by Jack London on the subject.
