Ive just put my quake4 dvd back in its box! so long! I'll wait til the mod makers sort something or raven release a fix! peace

[slightly off-topic] After a year of playing XBox and upgrading my PC so I could once again play PC games (Quake 4, specifically), I fired up ASE and noticed that it added some Yahoo stuff along with some newer games. Under Quake 4, it listed exactly 0 servers. Updating the filters.txt didn't help, so I'm forced to use Qtracker for the time being (so much for my lifetime subscription for ASE). At least the in-game browser lists more than 1000 servers with the 1.0.4 patch.

As for the female skins, a banshee would be interesting to see in multiplayer.

The audio problems for Quake 4 have nothing to do with speakers or headphones. Quake 4 uses OpenAL 2.0, and ONLY OpenAL 2.0 for hardware audio. This means that unless you own a Creative Audigy or better you won't be able to get any hardware audio. For many games, hardware audio isn't that great but for Quake 4 Raven/id really dropped the ball when it came to software audio. Software audio in Quake 4 is garbage. Sounds don't attenuate well, they drop out, and they can sometimes be played back with static. This is what you get when you make backroom deals with Creative as now you're going to have to buy a Creative sound card in order to hear anything in Quake 4.
