It was going to be changed, but after so many years it was determined to have a "common law" relationship with board readers and a formal petition of annulment would need to be filed. Too much work and legal expense for a typo.

It's not so much squatter's rights as it's natural habitat. The way I heard it, an advocate group protested the proposed removal of the typo from it's "birthplace", and while the typo did little to help itself, they raised quite a ruckus. One lady even went so far as to chain herself to a server. She didn't understand that they didn't need physical access to the server to remove it, but she only relented after Raven promised not to (her words) "defile it's nest".
