ok, i know quite a few military bases, and i can assure you there are enough civilians to go round on a military base.

Good point.

The fact is, there really aren't any situations where you'd want a gun that shoots anything that moves.  Outside of alient attack, that is. :p

but what if they "come in peace"

:p

They'll go back in pieces! :p

Anyway, back on topic.  It's a neat invention, though I agree that it's not the most useful of weapons.

^^ sounds cool. there'd probably be some kind of transponder in our boys' body armor to identify them as friendly.

but what if the transponder fails and the auto-turret opens up on the wrong guys(?)
personally I'd feel safer if the miniguns defending my ass were in the hands of a real person. heh

First, I really need some sleep.  I definitely skipped some crucial parts of the last sentence or two and ended up with "Personally I'd feel safer if my ass were in the hands of a real person."

Second, to answer your question: We've had this problem before.

Speaking of that senitry gun.
When I saw the scope and the flashlight the gun was using, I knew it was a Crosman soft air.

I have an M14 Crosman rifle. Dubbed, Stinger R34
http://www.crosman.com/site/listing/1282

The aim is really acurate. I can shoot stuff up to 91 meters, with 100% acuracy. It starts to decrease after that. And it reaches ~200 meters.

The coolest part about this whole gun is that it has all the working parts of a reall M14, the Safe, Semi, Auto switch. The loading "pull" thingy. That loads the chamber. The clip. Red cross target scope. BRIGHT BRIGHT blue LED flashlight. (so bright that you cant see the person aiming the gun at you at dusk)

Oh, and lets not forget about the recoli.

Went off on a tangent there. That cause I just got the gun a week ago, and now I see this. :D

Oh, and I am back. (again)

Then they wouldn't be 'attacking,' would they? :p
