Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill.
why dont they just write on the box "We take no responsiblity for the content of this game once it has shipped" or something along those lines that way people that come after them over nude skins dont have a leg to stand on

As far as I know most games already have that in the EULA you agree to before you install.

EULAs have no legality, I have not signed it therefor it is not legally binding and having an accept button take the place of your actual signature does not count.

They do in Canada - I believe to date there has been 1 case here in which a "click-wrap" licence was declared a valid contract (although from what I understand it's still a bit nebulus - different provinces have slightly different contract enforcement laws, so parts/all of certain EULAs may not be valid or enforcable in some jurisdictions).

Is it just me or are the GTA games doing more harm than good with our industry?

But I blame the parents who buy their kids any games and dont pay attention to ratings, and I blame the government and media for only paying attention to the miniority cases and not all the perfectly sane gamers and stuff.

They shouldnt make a ban on modifying!  Alot of games already have that.  Like MGS2!  Which I hate about that.... Its the most impossible to mod game EVER, but its like my favourite game that I really want to mod!  Maybe more PC games will be that way from now on and you'll all see how #### frustrating it is to not be creative with your favourite game.

What is all this about anyway?  I thought the M rating DID mean its for adults and it has sexual scenerios and content in it along with violence and language?  I thought they completely got rid of the AO rating cause I never see it used anywhere.

To sum up what's been said in a few other threads about this: the M rating is like the R rating in movies, the AO rating like NC-17.  If something is rated M, that means it's intended for people 17 and older, if something's rated AO, it's only for people 18 and older.  The reason you never see the AO rating is because the 4 major retailers (Wal-Mart, Target, and 2 others) won't carry them, so right out of the gate any publisher releasing an AO game would be losing money.

This entire situation is more about a company misleading the ESRB (I disagree with that statement, but I don't feel like arguing it with myself right now, and it's probably the truth).  Given that, it makes no sense to stop modders, since the ESRB and others already decided the modders weren't the ones really at fault here.  It's a bad situation.

This is such a joke.

"Go ahead Timmy, play your game where you can crack that policeman's head open with a tire-iron and then run over his dead body.  What?  There's sex involved?  This must be stopped!"

Again I like to point to the wonderfull article someone linked to in one of these threads with "Morals Man".

But you know what?  I'm not worried.  This'll blow over in a few months and everything will be back to normal.

XD!

That is SO TRUE.  How did grotesque violence become ok compared to sex and nudity?  Its really rediculous. ####, even for us mature players to appreciate, its better to focus on making love and appreciating a human form, than to destroy it, hurt, mame, and kill. But atleast most games have you kill in order to survive - kill to save innocents. Usually.
