sof3 is it going to be made or is'nt it .........??

come on raven stop playing with our emotion's on this game tell us 1 way or the other !!!!!!!

i'm a big fan of both the sof game's

sof2 is still in the top 10 of online game's been played after 3 yr's.......maybe that is proof enough for sof3?!!!!

now put us all out of our misery ! shall we move on from sof??
or wait for the next installment??!?!?!?!

ya know, the sad thing is that sof2 was a flop on the Xbox, and im sure that is a huge factor in why they haven't really done much with another installment. There have been "signs" that another installment in the series is in the works... the main one in my opinion that gamestop was taking pre-orders. But just as quickly as they took pre-orders they refunded them.

PC games just don't make the $$ that console games do, so companies like Activision focus their attention elsewhere. Even big titles like Q4 and COD2 are finding homes on consoles. Sadly sof3 isn't really considered to be a AAA title on the console (or pc for that matter), and just doesn't seem to be a high enough priority for the publisher to do anything,

In my opinion we shouldn't expect another installment released for at least a year if not more. If it wasn't mentioned at E3 its not coming any time soon....

hey i got it for xbox as well  
but to be honest fps don't have the same ammount of control with a pad, gimme a mouse and keyboard anyday!

i've played a few fps's on consoles and they just suck !
a bit like racing games do on pc but rock on a console  

sof1 & 2 seem's too have an older player than most of the
fps's on the go today .....so remember raven it's us oldie's that buy the game's for the console's so the kid's stay away from our pc's,
and i'm not gonna buy anymore console game's until you make sof3 !!!

over the last few years ive found that i dont purchase games for myself for the console anymore i tend to stick with the pc now anyway
if it's a fps ill be there on release day
and out of all the fps's i own (COD,CSS,DOOM3,Painkiller,BiA)
i still only really play sof2 (it just can not be beaten in multiplayer!!!!!)

Yea I'm the same... first in line to pick up the new fps released for PC.

SOF2,COD,COD:UO,FarCry,HL2/CSS,Doom3,Doom3ROE, BF,BFV,BF2,UT2003/2004

Even some stinkers like Devestation and the new 20 dollar Delta Force Extreme. I expected Devestation to be good, had the unreal 2 engine and all.... but sadly it wasn't.

I own consoles but just can't get into them as much. But they just make alot more money. A game like sof3 is going to get pushed to the backburner with new consoles being released and real money to be made. I'm a fan myself, but I have pretty much accepted the fact that SOF3 isn't going to happen any time soon....

SOF2 should never have gone to Xbox.

SOF2 is an aim game.  Movement is not totally realistic, but you sure better know how to aim or you can get skunked.

As a multiplayer game it is the most difficult shooter to master.  But it can also be the most rewarding.

I played a little tonight (ROC MOD) and it took a few minutes to get one kill (I had not played in months).  Finally I got my head and started to play the style of game I used to play:  kill the flag carrier.  I moved to my favorite spots and quickly jumped to 20 pts.

It was fun but SOF2 has probably passed me by.  I have better luck with UT4 (all the running around with crazy weapons).

I'll take in a little tank battle with COD UO.

I still have Doom 3 with ROE on my drive.

Ever since then i have had my hopes up. In frustration at seeing no progress since then i found kenns site and got his msn addy and talked to him on MSN briefly. He advised me that He was no longer wuith raven software (as of july last year i believe) and that i shouldnt be hopeful that it would be made. So i dont know whats happening. But one thing needs to be said. This game has been around for 3 years now and still has a huge following. There is no other game even near as confrontational as SOF2. the online game is awesome.I have played both the pathetic CS games, i have played Battle field 1942 and Call of Duty, ive even played vietcong and Farcry and Star wars republic commando.. none of these even slightly interest me after playing sof2.. they all have their little novelties but once your over that the gameplay is stone cold dead boring. The physics of the shooting in sof is soo much better the jumping, the movement... everything its just a full on battle. If raven dont pursue this series they are missing out themselves coz theres thousands and thousands of players just waiting for the Sof3 Call. Oh and yea.. this isnt a game for braindead consoling masses... thats why it sucks on Xbox.. it was never made for this use.. any targeting fps game is crap on consoles and anyone who says otherwise is a fool.. and halo noob. I to really loved sof2... still haven't found a game that really gets me like sof2 did....

But the main problem isn't the fanbase.. its the money. PC games just don't generate the revenue the way console games. A huge hit on the PC may compare... but as far as I know sof1 and 2 were not a huge commercial success...

If it was, there would have been an expansion packs, or something. I think the nail in the coffin may have really been the poor reception on the xbox. You would be hard pressed to find really good reviews for the game for either system, PC/Xbox.

Well they dont make cs source on console... and it is a no1 seller. Same with the battlefield series.

HL2 will be released soon on XBOX... and you must not have heard of BF2 modern combat for the PS2 and Xbox?

And there is also a CS for XBOX....

As far as sof2 being a no1? I have no idea what its sales were for PC, but they were pretty poor on the XBOX.

A) If there is to be an sof3 then i think it will use the new quake engine
B) The new quake isnt finished
C) Long time to wait

Thats my theory anyway...
