I'm trying to make an NPC sit on a chair, and i've got this as the spawnscript:

//Generated by BehavEd

rem ( "comment" );
set ( /*@SET_TYPES*/ "SET_ANIM_BOTH", /*@ANIM_NAMES*/ "BOTH_SIT7" );

I know there is probably lots wrong with it, but I can't figure it out!
Please help a noob.

Ollie

Simple.  Make an effect statement with the NPC's name in it and put the set anim both_sit7 into it.

Also, in the map editor, make sure you have the NPC_scripttargetname or something like that.  Can't remember exactly what it is.  Anyway, make sure that has a value of the name your calling your NPC.

First off, did you make the map, or are you using a premade one?

I made the map myself. It proves that i'm not much of a mapper either!

Ok then.  Click on the NPC guy in that map.

Next, there should be an area labeled Key.  type in NPC_targetname
In Value, Type in a name.  Could be sitman or whatever.

Next save and compile.

Go into your script.
Put in an affect statement.
Now, make the name of the affect statement the same as the name you gave the NPC.

Now put in a task statement.  Make a name for that too.
Next, put your sit animation command(the one you have above) in that task.
Now make a do...wait and name it the same name as your task.
Note, the do... wait should be after your task, not inside it.  Also all these should be inside the affect.

Save, compile, and run it in the game.

I did this with all the sitting anims, they all worked but sit7 didn't. Do you know why this is?
I found a different sitting position that I liked. Thank you for all your help Lord Dave!

Meh, some are only single frame animations.

But your welcome.
