Berman blames everyone but himself, to anyone's surprise

I have to ask, won't the next series that come out whenever it does, also be competing with re-runs? Perhaps if there were some decent writers that came up with decent plots ratings might not decline. Why Paramount/Viacom does not get rid of Berman and Braga, is anyone guess, but one thing is for sure, there is an oversaturation of them. The last bit at the end of the article is the best part, the creative team is getting axed off Star Trek, so maybe some fresh ideas can come in whenever that happens.

Jolene Balock is right where she says the stories have just got dull and boring. Thats whats killed the Star Trek Franchise. Deep Space Nine and Voyager both did well! Enterprise failed because of boring stories in the first 2 years. By the crucial change in season 3 and 4.. viewers had already given up. Plus it was a stupid premise anyway. Star Trek has always been about moving forward. It should have been based after Voyagers return.
Coto is the man for the job. He should be given full control of the nxt star trek movie and series. Keep Berman away from the franchise.

Berman is a putz.

Look as some basic TV series that almost went on forever and had little environment to work with:  Seinfeld, I love Lucy (and so forth).  They were just simple situation comedies that were very limited in time and space.

Star Trek is limited only by a writer's imagination.  Truly, it is not limited by any time (time travel) or space (unlimited universe).

Agreed.  I wish they'd started Enterprise with stories like they're doing now.

I would see a serie after Nemesis.
A lot of Romulan stuff would be cool.
Open of the neutral zone and the boarder. Lot of discovery. First Romulan starfleet member, stuff like that.

That idea is good speed, but it has the idea of been done, eg worf. but i for one do love the romulans, there just so secretive.

They could go on forever just doing the bit where they meet the unknown beings in unexplored areas of the universe.

Mix in a little time travel to change history and bingo...

What if they did a series that wasn't Federation based. You know make a series from the Romulan point of view. The Federation would definitely still be there, but it might be a change that could spark some change and re-ignite interest in Star Trek.

How about a series set on a Romulan star base.

The problem comes down to is that what Gene would have wanted? Star Trek has always been about humans the UFP, having the Romulans would be cool, but I dont think they'd be a good 7 year series.

Maybe something about 20 years after Nemesis?
