Hey,

I start a server by this command line:

./sof2ded +set fs_game rocmod +exec bbs_server.cfg +set net_port "30100" +set sv_pure 0

Now, i want include the "maxclients" - command, because i dont want that this command is changable by any people editing the server.cfg.
Is that possible and how would this work?

Greetz DOM

Oh, and sry for my english ;-)

DOMinator - Which operating system are you using?

Are you trying to lock the server.cfg file or just make it so the maxclients cvar is not changable?

As far as I know, you can't. The only thing that I would suggest is to set the maxclients cvar in the mapcycle. That way if one of the people that has rcon access changes the value, it will change back to the original at next map.

yes, thats a way. But I gave a person ftp access to change all configs ( server.cfg mapcycle.cfg a.s.o.). Just the file including the startcommand is not changable for this person. I thought I can put the maxclient cvar into it. But why is the sv_pure cvar "read only"?

The sv_pure cvar is set in the start script/commandline and the game is hard coded for it being read only. Just add the +sv_Maxclients to your start script
