When they try to connect by using the IP address, are they specifying the port too?

They aren't trying to use your internal address to connect are they?

What happens when they try to connect?



When you start up your server are you specifying the port number?
Looks like 20101.

Do you receive any error messages when you start up your server?
OK. No on this one.

they do enter the correct port and ip ie 10.0.0.4:20101 but nothing happens awaiting connection and if they type this into there favourts its not there in there list

This is your internal IP address. You need to give them your external IP address. It's the IP address that is assigned to your router from your ISP.

right but why is it not listed in the main servers??

do i need to enter any other settings



k i managed to add the outgoing ip address to the router settings and my friend can connect to me now    and some ppl do come to the server but the listing is not working and il try and fix it

If others can see it in the main listing, then it's there. It's normal that you can't see it. I'm not sure if it has to do with ping or exactly what. Well, I should say that this is normal for someone running a server over broadband or dsl. Like I said before, I haven't seen my server in the list for quite a long time. Sometimes I will just keep reloading until it shows up. But that can take many times of downloading the list. For me, as long as our clan members or others can find it, that's all that matters.
