First off, great site. Lots of good stuff to read and learn from. I was hoping someone could explain what clip brushes are and/or do?

Thanks!!! :)

Build you a test room. Create a brush and leave it solid. Snap to grid can be on or off. Hit the X key or click on the button. I use this for cutting holes in walls. What it does is split the brush or you can choose to cut the brush. I am sure someone else can explain it better. Clipping is like taking a brush and splitting it up into smaller pieces. Hope that helps. ;)

clip brushes are invisible, but solid brushes that the player cannot see but they will block him/her.

so if you have a dressor for ex, with handles that stick out 1 unit, when the player walks by they will get stuck against it. You would then add clip brushes to even it out, so that the front of the dressor is basically flat.

Now when the player walks by, instead of getting stuck against the handle that was out by 1 square he will run right buy because the clips brushes make it all flat.

If you were actually asking about clipping, which is completely different term.. see Rev's Reply above :)
