I have just installed SOF2-double helix on my new pc, but when I try to start the game it aborts after 3-4 secs, and a message is displayed in top of the console, saying: ^1ERROR: Couldn't load ambient sound sets from sound/sound.txt Seems like the problem appears when trying to load the game sounds. in console looks like this: WARNING: couldn't load sound as wav or mp3: sound/weapons/m4/m4fire01 WARNING: couldn't load sound as wav or mp3: sound/weapons/m4/m4fire02 WARNING: couldn't load sound as wav or mp3: sound/weapons/m4/m4fire03 WARNING: couldn't load sound as wav or mp3: sound/weapons/m4/glaunch WARNING: couldn't load sound as wav or mp3: sound/weapons/m4/ready_gun WARNING: couldn't load sound as wav or mp3: sound/weapons/m4/bolt_pull WARNING: couldn't load sound as wav or mp3: sound/weapons/m4/bolt_release First I thought it maybe was caused by the scratched and miserable state my "old" SOF2-cds were in, but when I tried to install it with a friends cds that are in much better shape, it still aborts, displaying the same error-message. Hope someone can help me with this problem, I would appreciate it very much..!

I've also recently reinstalled this game and get the exact same message when attempting to connect to a server. Please help as I have searched lots of other forums with no result and can't think of anything I haven't done

Try doing a google for an app called 'wiser.exe' - run it from your root SOF2 folder - It checks to see if any files are corrupt
