Last week I go into bestbuy. I have the radio and CD changer I pulled from my old car, and I have a satellite radio tuner that I just bought. I went to go see if my old radio would fit in the new car.

The guy said it would, and for everything it would cost 220$ to install. Glorious.

He tells me however that I need to order a splitter so I can plug the CD changer and the satellite radio tuner into the radio. So I order it there, and it was set to get shipped to my house.

I go home, and just decide to double check the model numbers online. What do I find? He ordered the wrong part. He ordered some extension cable for the radio, which I didn't need at all.

The piece of paper I have said cancellations must be done same-day as purchased. Not only that, but upon contacting pioneer, I found out I never needed an extra part in the first place.  :s9:

So I drive all the way back out there, I try to return it, and the girl behind the desk is like "oh um like, you see like, I don't like know how to like return this. Wait until you get it"

I said to her that I didn't want to have to make an extra trip out here because bestbuy screwed up so I wanted to cancel it now. 30 minutes later, they refunded my 30$.

I come back from colorado and what do I find? They shipped me the part anyway  :p

So that brings us to today. I brought my car in to get the radio installed. I sit and fill out the paperwork, the guy goes and looks at the radio and goes "umm this isn't going to fit in your car, you're going to have to buy another radio".

:s9:  :s9:

I found the least expensive pioneer radio that could handle the cd changer and satellite, 150$. I checked everywhere online, but the prices were the same.

So I go back and I buy it, I go to the service shop, and they tell me "ummm, we've become too backed up, why don't you make a service appointment for next week?"

I flipped out. I started yelling "HEY ITS NOT MY FAULT THAT I WAS TOLD THE RADIO WOULD WORK AND NOW IT WON'T, I WENT AND BOUGHT A BRAND NEW RADIO FROM YOU IN LESS THAN AN HOUR AND A HALF AND I WANT IT INSTALLED"

So they took the car and I have to pick it up tonight. The good thing that came out of this is that the installiation now only costs 135$. I guess the first guy was a complete idiot.

I'm gonna sell the old radio and the part they sent me on ebay, hopefully that should cancel out the price of the new stereo.

Lesson: Don't go to bestbuy with car installiatons.

Thats the one I got by the way. All the same features of my old one.

LOL

I hate when people at stores don't know what their talking about...

But, on the positive side, yelling does seem to usually straighten problems out :p

Haha yeah but I'm worried they're gonna Uncle Jack up my car.

When the guy looked at the satellite radio tuner he said to me "You see, theres only one connection in the radio, so this can only handle either the cd changer or the satellite, not both"

I said to him "You see here on the satellite unit? It has an IN and an OUT port."

He goes "oh."

Watch I get my car back and the engine is falling apart or something.

Do you know how increadibly easy it is to install that stuff? The real lesson should be:

Don't go to BestBuy period.

After they tried shoving one of those stupid warrenties at me, I just up'd and left the store, never to returen again.

I hate those stupid extended warranty dealies.

FutureShop ALWAYS tries to get you with one. I always turn 'em down, but the sad thing is, some people go for those.
One of my friends got it on his Xbox, his PC and a hard drive he bought their a week ago.

Waste of money, if you ask me.

Its incredably easy to bolt the cd changer to the floor of the back of my car and route the cables up to the front?

And yeah they tried shoving a warrenty at me but I passed on it.
