The little lady at the end of todays SG1 said 'tune in next week for Stargates SERIES finale' i thought there was a 9th season??!?!

There is. It's not the series finale. In the UK, IIRC, they say 'series' instead of 'season' quite frequently.

Last in the series next week of S8 They could have brought Janet back for this episode, but it doesn't look like it.
