If there are links to such vids, it would be interesting to view them.  A few are here:

total adjusted yet again. :(

humour most certainly does have a place in tragedies such as this. providing it is not made at the expense of others. there's a common phrase in english

Quote
if you don't laugh, you'll cry

speed probably, as a non-native english speaker, isn't aware of this aspect of the language/culture.

humour is often used as a shield against suffering. my "cthulhuism" comment was an attempt to use humour to defuse a volatile situation. 6of1 picked up on it and carried it on. if MRJ had been present you can guarantee that he would have been to the one to so do.

It's almost incomprehesible, the amount of poeple who have died..... it's so tragic.

I just went to the worldvision.ca website and donated some money.... i'm actually thinking of sponsoring a child... it's only $33 per month, which i can easily afford...

I agree with 6of1, a light hearted chuckle, not aiming directly at the situation, is a good thing, not a bad thing.

Total update : 121,000
But some official say, it's a FAR away number, it's currently THAT only because they are still counting the bodies.
Some already avaluate to over 200,000 dead. And that, without counting those who may die of sickness or other sanity problem.

And still over way 25,000 people without news.

Over 10,000 missing were in vacation there:

2000 From United States (45 are known to be dead)
1500 From Swizterland (spelling?)
1000 From Germany
600 From Italy
And from two douzens other country.

Even if still most of those are "missing" simply because they can't find a phone, it's likely there will be dead from every big country of the planet.

What about the aussies speed?
