I initially installed SOF1 Platinum onto a virtual CD drive (Alcohol 120%), and it played fine. Then I had a few problems with the virtual cd software so I uninstalled SOF1, then I uninstalled the virtual cd, then I reinstalled SOF1 from my first CD drive. The installation ran with no problem.

When I try to play the game, however, I immediately get a small dialog box with the word 'Error' in the title bar and an 'OK' button, with no other information.

I've tried removing all the registry entries for SOF, and for the virtual CD software, but I still keep getting this meaningless error. I've tried uninstalling SOF again and reinstalling it (again) but I still get this same error.

Oops, I forgot to say that the game immediately shuts down after the dialog box 'OK' button is clicked, so I am unable to run the game at all.
