I heard this can/could be done with a PB command.

After a user conencts PB checks his cvars for validity and to make sure they are in "range".

I hear you can use a command that will make the users cvars read only while in your server - hence disallowing them to make changes after they are screened by PB until the next check.

Yes PB can check to see if cvars are with in a certain range and if the cvar is not with in your imposed limits the client will be kicked. If you are using this for any thing other than currently cheat protected cvars or non-game cvars...you'll be an #######.

No there is no way that I've heard of to lock a clients cvars from changing...only a way to poll the client to see what cvars are not at factory defaults or that have recently changed. Any such feature and use by an admin would classify him as an #######.

If these are in fact your goals please by all means do so...but also make your server non-public so that you don't annoy and drive off gamers because your an #######.

Well, i know that it is possible as jolt's goldrush server is setup that way (to restrict the use of some wellknown chatcvars, like aim = 0)... i assume all other jolt servers are setup in the same way (but i never tried it).

But i am not very good with PB myself so i suggest you look on the punkbusted forums... i am pretty sure you can find the needed info there.

Slapped huh...well first off this is the wrong god #### forum...try the server admin forum.

Your right I didn't offer any thing constructive other than hopefully getting you the #### away from such crap.

PB will in fact get rid of any one using actual cheats...the only time this var locking stuff is at all HELPFUL is when there is a new cheat out that PB can not detect...point #### blank...any other use of this fuction is just to be an #######...nothing more nothing less.

Also I didn't assume ####...I know the vars and the commands very well...matter fact I'm one of the top guys in this field when it comes to gaming.

Let me also note that its shamefull for some one thats suppose to be a admin...yet they don't take the bloody time to read any of  the doc's they just want some one to hold thier hand. EvenBalence has complete and total documention on PB along with some samples that make it painfully clear how to use them.

Also if this is suppose to be a match server...why don't you look and see what the league setups are? Or is that also some thing you are incapable of?

Maybe try pulling your head out of your ass and actually read the readme.txt for once to get information and links.

Also I don't see my self imposing my will or enforcing it....I just see my self being rude to a ####### admin is all. That doesn't seem to have the know how to post in the proper forum...to do proper research or any thing really at all....just make requests for someone to hold thier hand.

Lets also make some thing clear...your the one coming in here looking to impose your will on others...and judging by your general lack of info or ablity to gain info...the server you plan to setup will more than likely help chase away gamers from this game do to wrong and iimproper rules being created and enforced.

Normally I'm actually very helpful towards others....but I do have a long and well known hate for these var range checks, thus why your catching flak...nothing more and nothing less.

Really for as much as I have visited this forum over the years...its rather a low post count compared to most here.
