Greg...

If mods take active part in thread, when it comes time to close them, some people will accuse them of abusing of their power.
Because, after all, most of the thread around are about opinion.

*hmmm... I hear the storm coming...*

"Taking active parts" and "taking stances and closing a thread when you like" are different things.

I know.

But imagine HRH give his opinion in a thread. Then 2 people start flaming each other about that opinion.
HRH close the thread. Some may start accussing him of closing it because he didn't like the opinion of the others, and not actually because of the flame.

All a mather of interpretation.

You have to pick your threads.  In the past I've gotten on you about political stuff you really shouldn't have posted since you're a mod.  It may not be fair, but as a mod you can't really have the freedom that we have. Especially with stuff that even *we* shouldn't be posting.

That's the point.

Some want more active mods, but it's really touchy to be more active without hitting anything.

I wasn't getting after mods for not posting in volatile threads.  I was getting after them for not posting *at all* other than to lock things.

Ryo did exactly the right thing.  Even before HRHs post here, Ryo deserved an apology for the attacks on his actions.  Now he REALLY deserves one from those who insisted on the attacks.
