Five minutes ago, I lost all my files. Yay! Long story short, all that is left of them is like 300,000 chkdsk files. Apon opening one of these files I came across this: I wonder if it will work... Well now I'm going back to searching through files, trying to figure out what I lost. (30gb, btw) EDIT: My god...I rebooted...it worked!

ga'h. i lost nearly 120Gb one month and 2 months later my primary hard drive died, loosing me another 20Gb and my linux install ba'h! i hate data loss

No chance in #### i'd let that happen to me again. I backup rather profusely now. I have four running hard drives and I kep CDR and DVD-R backups of everything. Short of a meteorite decimating my bedroom, everything should be fine.

i got most of my stuff back, from backups of freinds etc... i had backed some stuff up onto the other hard drive, but forgot to restore it onto my new 2nd hard drive and lost that when i lost the primary drive, bollocks

Few months ago my second HD died. They replace it, but around 20Gig of lost stuff.

I never use to back anything up, but now I got three DVD-RAM disks that I put everything on....
