Well, I found SOF Platinum for $7.99, and figured it was about time to indulge myself.  So I loaded it last night, and went for the Tutorial, as I normally do with new games that offer tutorials.  So I see this guy & he tells me to go to the door (which is appearing from behind some crates and stuff as he talks), and activate it.  So I go over there, press my 'activate' key and...

Nothing.

The door doesn't budge.

This isn't a good start to a game.
If I can't even get through the door (IN THE TUTORIAL, no less), how am I supposed to play the game?

There's another door on the other side of the room, but that doesn't budge either.  But my guess is that doors only there for show.

I double- and triple-checked my Activate keys, even changing it incase there was a problem with the keyboard itself (that would be a much bigger problem, of course), but nothing helped.

Is this a common problem, or am I the only one who can't go through doors?

I just installed it first time on the XP machine and yes it's the door to the left of Sam that appears which worked fine for me

Thanks...I found my problem...    I confused "use item" with "use", so I wound up binding the wrong action to where I wanted my "use" key.   Uggghhh...

Works fine now!

I don't use items that much, I kept forgetting which item I had to hand and ended up killing myself more times than not after throwing C4 instead of a Grenade when in a hurry to throw it.
