ipconfig /flushdns in a command box may help because of the way XP holds DNS information

You do have disabled the download on demand in the advanced settings (plus quite a few others) and you'll want to Check for any odd sites in the trusted sites part of the internet options

Bah ! http://www.helpdesk.umd.edu/os/ Chose connectivity/connecting to network for your OS then chose the DNS changing option (you'll need to check with your ISP for the DNS sever addy)

i flushed the dns anyways and i disabled the install on demand...we shall see what happens...
