i have linux gameserver with celeron 2,6 Ghz but as i can see with "top" command 16 PPL server takes 25% of its power. so i can run maximal like 60 PPL. now i can upgrade on 2,66 pentium.would that be a big power difference? what u think i should do?how better is actually pentium 2,66 from celeron 2,6 in gaming servers?i dont wanna make a mistake thats why i ask lol one more question wots important on CPU gameservers to have big frequency?more L2 cache?more bus bandwidth?HT? or what? lol many questions huh? thanks for your help greetz ivo

dude u need to worry about your upload capacity more than your computer for running a server ------ if you have a resedential home cable account or DSL .... your max players in a server is going to run around 6-10 at the most.. if u have the typical allowed bandwith... your computer is fine for running even up to 32 man server, but bandwith is what you need most.....

lol dude i have 1 TB transfer and 100 Mbit so thats no problem i just want run more servers and i wanna know if its good idea to change CPU

lol as i see noone knows bout wots better. i ask other question. anyone know how many PPL can host 3,00 ghz pentium with linux.anyone has got it? .there is enough RAM just celeron begins to suck down at 55 PPL. so i wanna know how much more i can host on pentium 2,66 or 3,00GHZ thanks for your help

P4 2,8 GHZ 800FSB, 1024 MB DDR RAM Can host 6-7 servers of 12 PPL But how higher the ram how more ppl you can host. You better take 1536MB as memory because when you are going to host bottlenecks that would be better.
