yes if u downloaded/copy the game then that will be the reason...or if u used a keygen.  the invelid pk3.files refernces i used to gte and once i turned on autodownload it worked cos it downloads all the pk3.files taht u need for that server...u prob dont have rocmod client and stuff like thaat.

I have the exact same problem:
I bought the game 3 years ago, have an original key, have no router, have no firewall on xp, have deleted sof2key and re-entered it, did not give my key to someone else, never cheated and get kicked of servers: PB GUID AUTH UNKNOWN anyway..... I already sent an e-mail to evenbalance, but no answer yet. Also, I have this problem since 5 months (since the new pb version): before that I didn't have ANY trouble whatsoever.

Checkout for upper case... If I remember well, you need to write your key in lower case. There is also character that look like others... 1 = i = l... You know...

If you have a valid CD key (not key-gen'd) and are getting the unknown GUID message, re-enter your CD key in the main game menu...the CD key file in your SOF2 folder has probably become corrupt.

For invalid pointer issues, try restarting the game or setting your game to accept downloads (the server probably has a file you need in order to play there).

Well, I tried re-entering it a couple of times: no luck. However, I turned ON autodownloading, and I haven't seen the problem since. Time will have to tell if the problem is gone for real... thank you all for you info though. I'll let you know what the story is!

Hello! I get this message... but....sooo.... i dont buy this game.  Soo....when i buy this game i dont get this error? I havent got original cd-key.
