My Star Trek Vs. Terminator topics seem to generate many responses, and also appear to spawn different, related topics as well.

This is a battle between two, small aircraft, of the same basic size.

The Runabout, while probably not having as many armaments as the Aerial HK, has it's own personal shield system, which can sustain several hits from plasma-based weapons without the ship itself taking much damage.  The Runabout is also piloted by intelligent, humanoid beings, which also gives it an advantage.  Its weapons include basic phasers, and a limited supply of photon torpedoes.

The Aerial Hunter-Killer (HK), on the other hand, is somewhat larger than the Runabout, and although it lacks shields, it has quite a powerful arsenal of weapons on its side.  It also has the ability to pilot itself in a no-gravity environment over Earth, in order to oversee and scan the planet from far overhead.  The Aerial HK has a generic A.I. system, programmed for ground assaults, and if necessary, aerial/space combat as well (it was programmed for aerial/space combat in the case that the human resistance managed to bring down, disable, and reprogram another HK like itself, which was becoming a common threat in the War Against the Machines).  Although it only contains a generic A.I. system, it made up for this in simple, brute force.  It's weapon arsenal includes phased plasma cannons, and seek-and-destroy missiles on either wing.

Who do you think would be the victor of this scenerio?  I have added a poll to this topic.  Cast your poll.

Rockets tear thru the HKs easy enough.  A photon torpedo (even a micro one) would incinerate it.

No disputing neccecary, the Runabout would win.

I mean the Runabout has a small transporter right? They could easily transport a bomb into the cockpit destoying the Aerial HK right there.

The HK has no cockpit, it's a solid machine.

Here's an idea for the next match in the ongoing Star Trek vs The Terminator installment:

The mother-of-all-to-end-all-battles, in an all out handicap match- James Cameron vs Rick Berman & Gene Roddenberry!

TBK- The K stands for King. Don King. And watch the hair. :)

Runabout no contest, transporter range is more far away than weapons range if memory serves me correctly so a well place explosive any were on the HK would reduce it to ass's

The Runabout is like 250-300 years farther in the future. With it's shields and advanced alloys in it's hull, I  doubt the HKs antiquated, low-yield weapons would even scratch the Runabout's paint.
