I got a Nuclear Toilet! Flushing in 3...2...1 FFFLLLUUUSSSHHH! shockwave sniff Man1: God Joe, what did you eat? The problem with Nuclear Spacecraft in the US is the Enviormental groups. Say for example, the rocket launching that Sat blows over, lets sayHouston, we have a problem.

Read Popular Mechanics, every so magazine they show off what their cover story was 'x' number of years ago, you'd be surprised how Nuclear America was until Chernobyl and Three Mile Island.

On a side note, we're working on Nuclear powered aircraft again (our first one had a full size reactor in it and required a 10 mile long runway to get airborne, as you can guess, it never flew).

We're thinking of outfitting a UAV to be nuclear powered (not by Fission or Fusion), this new nuclear power relies on constant bombardment of an element by X-Rays, so if the X-Ray gen loses power, then nuclear process stops.

It's predicted that this new power source could be for modern Aviation what the Jet Turbofan was to the 60s (or whenever it was made)
